Another Look at Grace

Grand Lake, Colorado

I do not understand the mystery of grace-only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us.

Anne Lamott

When I chose, Aging with Grace, as the title for my blog, I did a lot of thinking about grace and what it means to me. Over the past few days, the word, grace, has come to me in spoken and written form. Most important, it has shown itself to me by example. I always take synchronicity seriously and I feel it’s worth another look.

Thinking about grace, the many blessings bestowed on us by God comes to mind first. There are other definitions to consider, however. Elegance, courteous goodwill, a manner of behavior, come to mind. The grace of God is bestowed on us without being earned. The other graces require we labor at them. For me it has always has been a work in progress.

Just as I am about to throw up my hands and my self confidence is at it’s lowest, something comes along to pick me up and tells me there is hope. Today, that something came in the form of a blog post by Barb at, Letitgocoach. Barb and I connected a few months ago on Word Press. Her generous spirit and grace have been a blessing. I believe people come into our lives for a reason. In this case, I am learning about grace.

If you are fortunate enough to have people in your life that make you better, treasure them. They don’t come along that often.

  1. That’s how God works. When we are ready to throw in the towel, He sends a messenger. My favorite thing in the whole world is to be used by Him and you are proof my friend, He uses you too. I love the name of your Blog because it describes what you write and you perfectly. Divine. It’s an honor for me to be a part of your life and I count your friendship as a blessing. Much love, Barb.
