Shadows

All the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow.

Leo Tolstoy

I visited the the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, where this photo was taken, on a dreary, damp day that threatened rain. Looking through my photos, I almost deleted it. After viewing the image closer, I noticed the play of the grays and greens of the foliage behind the structure and decided I liked it.

Sometimes, at first glance, things may seem dark and dismal. After a closer look there are some flashes of shining light. That’s what I am finding to be true about our current, Stay at Home, order. I was talking to a friend about how fortunate we are that we have nice weather and are able to get out for a walk or a bike ride. Thankfully, we’re not going through this in the middle of December. Taking a walk goes a long way to improving my state of mind. Especially, at this time of year, when the weather is perfect for being outside. Everything looks green and new, and plants are beginning to bloom.

Whatever, your own situation, I hope that you are able to find something that gives you joy and peace to get through these challanging times.
