Holidays

Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see.

The Polar Express

The Polar Express, a Caldecott Medal winner, is one of my favorite children’s books and I often give it as a baby gift. At it’s core, it’s about keeping the belief we have as children, keeping Christmas in our heart. I love the Holidays! Getting together with family and friends, Christmas cookies, carols playing, Holiday lights and decorations. It truly is, “The most wonderful time of the year.”

We have several family traditions that we look forward to. One of my favorites is Christmas Tea. I invite four friends I’ve known for many years. We have a traditional tea starting with a glass of Sherry and continuing with tea sandwiches, scones with Devonshire cream and raspberry preserves, ending with tiny desserts. We drink a couple of pots of tea and catch up on what’s been going on with everyone. Trips, new homes, grandchildren, are some of the things we discuss. There’s always lots of laughter and I hate to see the afternoon end. One of the best things, is the memories I take away.

No matter how you spend your Holidays, I hope you will find time to make happy memories.
