To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3
I knew it was not be avoided. No matter the calendar date, winter was coming. It arrived last week. As the temperature dipped, several inches of snow blanketed the landscape. Of course, typical of Colorado. I few days later, winter said, “Just kidding.”The temperatures warmed. Dead grass is exposed. Drooping plants having given up for the season, bend their stems in submission. I few dead leaves cling to bare tree branches, waiting for the inevitable.
The past few weeks, I have experienced days of sad disillusionment. I feel disbelief over what we have allowed to happen to our Country. This morning I woke up and realized it is time to get over it. “To pick myself up and get on with it.”, as my grandmother would say. Living in a state of sadness and regret is not helpful.
Like Colorado winter, there is a season for everything. God’s time plan and mine don’t always coincide. Banging my head against the wall is only going to give me a headache. It’s time to accept a new reality.
What does this new reality look like for me? Continuing to stay informed, but refusing to rehash the results until my ears bleed. Not one of us knows what the future will bring. I’m going to work very hard to deal with it as it happens. It’s the only choice I see.
Meanwhile, I’m going to practice some self-care. Walk in the park, read, enjoy some of my favorite restaurants. Spend time with family and friends. Continue to volunteer. Make plans for the coming holidays. Live my life.
If we let the,”crazy makers” turn our lives upside down, they win. I refuse to give them another victory.

I love this, but especially that last line! There may be a fresh batch of crazy entering the White House, but no matter. Our God is still on the throne, and He holds the final victory. 👑
