Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year, He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Lately, I have allowed fret and anxiety to invade my day. Family worries, the pandemic, politics. I have been spending way too much time on, “The sky is falling”. My grandmother would say,”Don’t waste your time worrying. Think positively”.
Every now and then I just need an attitude adjustment. A reminder that, especially as we become older, we can’t afford to throw away our days on negative thoughts. Once the twenty- four hours is over we can’t get it back. So much of our lives is dictated by choice. We decide if we will be happy or miserable.
I believe in self-fulfilling prophecy. We expect the worst and, concisely or unconsciously, we make it come true. If that’s the case, let’s create good. What we can’t control, we have to let go of. Life is too short.
